Find yourself some strong card and some green paper, fun foam or felt to cover it with.
Also locate a small pot to stand the Christmas tree in and something heavy to weigh down the pot, to ensure it stays upright (we used a piece of plasticine with a couple of pebbles stuck into it). Make sure to have Christmas stickers, stencils, felt pens, pom poms and glittery pipe cleaners (chenille sticks) to hand.
Measure the width of your green material and cut a triangular piece of card no wider than that.
Use this as a stencil to create a traditional Christmas tree shape. Alternatively, draw the tree shape free hand. Cut out the thick card first then use this as a stencil on the two layers of the green felt/ fun foam/ paper.
Stick the layers together and leave aside to dry whilst you cover the small pot and stencil any shapes you want to stick on the tree (Cupcake wanted a gold star for the top of the tree).
Decorate the tree with shiny bauble stickers, stencilled gold stars, pom poms and glittery pipe cleaners as tinsel.
Fill the pot with plasticine and stones. Stand back and admire.
Lovely!! and you have given me a great idea of how i can use the christmas tree cut outs i found in the craft box today!! Thanks xx
